Nio:

That is what I concluded on the prior release.

A few more pieces of information (opplysninger) regarding it:

I have no problems using Linux on my earlier (32-bit) MacBook machine.
There is no problem with the audio either. It shows two 1.83 gigahertz
processors, and it runs the blowfish benchmark twice as fast as on the
newer 64-bit) MacBook, which is somehow limited to one CPU.

I tried the Lubuntu 13.10 32-bit i386 live CD on the new (64-bit)
MacBook, and it has the same problems as the Lubuntu 13.10 amd64-mac
live CD(DVD).

I have noticed a few consistent things during the booting process on the
newer MacBook:

1. The screen is 'garbled' during the blinking-dots portion of the boot
process, and the screen background is garbled at signon time (though the
login dialog is intact). The older (32-bit) MacBook doesn't have the
garbled screen.

2. During the boot process the message "Unable to load isight firmware"
is displayed.

3. After logging in (I used the laptop keyboard successfully to enter my
password), the laptop keyboard stops working. A USB keyboard
(plugged-in) works fine, though.
