steam and ubuntu 13.10

I am not, but I could test it out for you.
My 2 first guess would be missing dependencies (somewhat unlikely since
it runs on many non Unity platforms) and some sort of issue with your
graphics card.
Now my 2 questions. Have you tried it in another DE and it works, just
not in Lubuntu (I assume your answer is no)
And do you have a graphics card that requires some sort of proprietary
blob to work right (since you are using steam, I would tend to think
'yes' here, as steam is for games and GPUs are for games)

You might generally include more hardware info when reporting bugs, but
aside from that I would try to search the internet for your specific
graphics card and steam (I suggest using duckduckgo.com or ixquick.com
as opposed to google... but that has nothing to do with this issue... :)

Let us know what you find. If it is your graphics card, please report a
bug using ubuntu-bug steam and post your info there with the solution
