Hello Ben,
Let me put it this way.
For how many years now, a Windows XP Users has been using XP?
Do they really update it?
Do you know how many users of XP are using a Pirate Version on the whole
world? count me as former one ;)
When suddenly, they will see the light. When suddenly, they will start
using something different, AKA Linux. When they will start knowing the fact
that they will use a brand new system on an old machine and it happened
that system, at least in our opinion, is much better than Windows XP.
IMHO, this kind of shock, will be a huge step to deal with.
If someone is still using Windows XP, most likely he does not know about
Linux. If he does, he chose not to use it.
Now, it is different. He will be given a Linux CD and that system is
Lubuntu.
IMHO, they need at least 6 months to learn 'the basic' of that system as
Linux (not as Lubuntu).
They will start asking Qs, etc.
IMHO, we should be ready for that, instead of arguing what version is to be
used.
A wise friend of mine said once:
"Learn how to walk first, then run."
Thanks!
