Inno Setup does its job pretty well, for usual desktop application
installers, for Windows 2000 up to Windows 8.

Desktop apps install in Windows 8 OK, but you need a signed installer
to avoid warnings (a signature costs around 200-300$ per year, if I
recall prices correctly).

Regarding Windows 8, and Metro apps in Windows Store, it is another
story entirely.
