Lubuntu 13.04: mysterious occurrence of icons appearing to be dragged

I'm using Lubuntu 13.04 -- no compositing at all -- and have replaced
PCManFM with Thunar and the Xfce4 desktop as described here:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/73017/thunar-as-default-file-manager-in-lubuntu-11-10-how


So no PCManFM running. No ghosts.

Just thought I'd mention that since no one mentioned Thunar so far. I don't
have any other file manager installed.
