Session control, starting applications on specific desktops, etc.

Is there any way in lubuntu/lxde to specify manually what programs one
wants to start up on what desktop?

I don't want to save my session, I want a specific layout at startup
with terminal windows on specific desktops and my browser on another
one. 

If it's optional to save one's session at logout that partially does
what I want but I believe it's difficult to specify which desktop
Firefox will restart on for example.
