curl doesn't run, only partial update available in update manager...

I installed todays daily from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/lubuntu/daily-live/current/precise-desktop-i386.iso
a couple of hours ago, and then did

  sudo apt-get install curl

and it installed fine, and then

  curl https://www.whatismyip.com

works fine.  So, as far as I can tell, the issue you encountered is
already fixed.
