The idea of 'Recommended Applications' list is NOT to provide alternatives to the default apps , but to highlight apps for other functions, eg. Library/Book/CD Collection apps, CAD/CAM, Arcade games, to name a few, that are not covered by the default apps.

I will be putting a Wiki page up over the weekend for people to use.
