Follow up on copy/highlight, lightdm, and DE conversions.

Please forgive the top post, I honestly do plan on trying to find a better way of doing things. Possibly using Abiword and copy-n-pasting messages .............. just be patient ;^)

About copying and/or highlighting please give me a bit of time to follow up on that. Your hints have been very helpful, particularly using the Tab key to advance to the next "box" in the live installer. Rather sensible since Tab is used so much in the text installer (either alternate image or the netboot mini.iso).

About the DE conversions this is so far very off topic because I've been focusing on converting Lubuntu and Xubuntu to Ubuntu because of the pae vs non-pae issue. It's hardly a new concept, just look at the Playing Around section here:

My Precise donations so far:

Next is Kubuntu -> Ubuntu just because I've been working on the Pure Ubuntu thing first. Next will come converting Ubuntu, Xubuntu, and Kubuntu to Lubuntu w/o breaking things ;^)

I do have some thoughts about lightdm documentation but I need time before I can focus on that. No more multi-tasking for me :^)

Interesting, and different from my own experience.  For me, double-click
fails to do that, every time, in Firefox 12.0 under Lucid 10.04.3, where
it does exactly what *I* expect a double click to do within text -- it
highlights a single word within the boxed text.

Can you provide a reproducible example of a specific OS/browser/web page
combination where triple-click on a "boxed" chunk of code fails to
highlight the line of text for you?

Sounds intriguing -- I wonder what you promised :)

Incidentally, I think one of my own wishes for 12.10 is probably going
to be better lightdm documentation, because the current content of its
man page is minimal, and there is no man page for its config file... !
Why did the entire Ubuntu desktop community decide to switch to a DM
that has such a dearth of documentation?  I can read the sources, but
most users either can't or won't.
