graphical installer not aware of Low-RAM computers

Is there any way to check the amount of RAM the user has, before we let them try to launch the ubiquity installer?
Lubuntu is perfectly usable on PC's with 256M-384M of RAM, but on this PC, ubiquity has serious problems running from the LiveCD.
I know we've documented this, and we haven't needed it for previous releases, still.
We can't expect the user to know that he needs the minimal CD.  People are going to share Lubuntu, and they aren't going to read the documentation first.
