Hi Simon,
My apologies. Somehow I managed to send my message before it was
completed...
My test hardware is a Samsung NC10 Netbook (32 bit) and details can be
found here:-
https://gist.github.com/21b61903871ee685fc79
Installed iso from a USB flash drive with no problems. Was interested to
see that the partitioning was set to sda5 2GB swap, sda1 rest of disc as /.
Did my usual installing of programmes via Synaptic Package Manager
(LibreOffice, GIMP, lubuntu-restricted-extras, gnome games, chromium
browser, gufw, emacs) and they ran OK.
Did a few more ad hoc tests - like creating and running a test bash shell
script and ensuring that certain characters needed for programming could be
entered into the keyboard.
Overall, much happier with this release than the Artful Aardvark Alpha 2
spin from last week.
I have tried to log this as "Passed with no bugs" on
http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/380/builds/153558/testcases
but I'm not sure if I succeeded or not. I would have thought that being
able to report what kind of hardware an iso succeeds on would be useful. If
you want me to report my install elsewhere, just let me know and I will.
BW,
Ian
