Greetings,

This week is the planned release[1] of Lubuntu 16.10 Alpha 1. Coming up,
we also have the planned release[2] of Lubuntu 16.04.1 scheduled for the
week of July 21st.

The Lubuntu team would like your help in testing so we can ensure the
releases go smoothly.

Here is what we need help testing, in order of priority:
 1. Ensure that the Lubuntu daily image can be installed correctly.
 2. Ensure that a fully updated Lubuntu 14.04 LTS install can be
upgraded to Lubuntu 16.04 LTS[f1].
 3. Ensure that the Lubuntu *Xenial* daily image can be installed correctly.
 4. Ensure that a fully updated Lubuntu 16.04 LTS install can be
upgraded to the Lubuntu daily image.

It would be helpful to report your testing on the ISO[4] and/or
Package[5] QA trackers if there is an appropriate test case.

We also need help ensuring that every bug that is present in Lubuntu is
tracked and accounted for. If you find a bug or have a bug that affects
Lubuntu, please subscribe the Lubuntu Packages Team[3]. In case you
weren't aware, that team exists to track all bugs related to Lubuntu.
Additionally, it would be helpful to confirm bugs and generally triage
the bugs in the Lubuntu Packages Team. There are bugs listed on the ISO
and Package QA Trackers for each release that would be good to
confirm/invalidate. If you have a bug that you can confirm, please
mention it on IRC, the respective tracker, or on this mailing list.

Any testing is not only helpful, but greatly appreciated. If you have
any questions regarding testing of any kind for Lubuntu, you can:
 1. Go to #lubuntu-devel on Freenode, IRC client if you need it[6]
 2. Send an email to lubuntu-devel AT lists DOT ubuntu DOT com
 3. Contact me

Before asking a question, please consult the Lubuntu Testing page[7].

Have a great day, and I hope to see you around!

[f1] When doing this, please remember that the upgrade from 14.04 to
16.04 is only automatically turned on when 16.04.1 is released, so
ensure your system is fully updated, and run the following in the
terminal to upgrade: sudo do-release-upgrade -d
