LoCo donations idea

I know for a fact the Ubuntu takes donations because I have donated. At the
time I did I don't even think there was a LoCo at that time so I was not
concerned where the funds went. I just wanted to help out as best I could.
OH wait I take that back I believe the donations were for the forums.
Anywho, I do see a need for funds and all the reasons Richard spoke of are
true. I try to get CD's but since we are not an approved Team we cannot
request large quantities. The last couple of events we have had I have made
the CD's myself. But giving out a burnt CD with a hand written Ubuntu label
is not the type of swap people want. Plus burning a few hundred CD's on my
three systems here at home is quite time consuming. As is printing and
folding a few hundred flyers. So I totally see a need for funding for
events.
I want to push and support Ubuntu but I do not have the money for getting
custom CD's made. Due to alot going on here at home and work I seem to have
missed out on the issues here lately. Are we trying to get Ubuntu set up as
non profit org so we can except donations or are we just discussing the best
ways to handle donations. I have't gon back through all the emails yet.
