I like the increased resolution even if the text is the same size, but I also 
find that with twice the DPI on the screen, I'm comfortable increasing the 
system DPI by 30-50%, so I still end up with significantly more usable screen 
space.

Also, some people buy a 30" 4k screen, which doesn't have any of the problems 
you are griping about.
