Fwd: kernel updates for k12.04

Nils,

I did the CTRL-ALT-F2. Log in with your usual
credentials and run the command

DISPLAY=:0 konsole &

then press CTRL-ALT-F7 to return to the GUI where you should have
konsole running.

In both cases you can now enter commands. I then entered-
/usr/bin/plasma-desktop  first time it scrolled thru bringing up the desktop
but disappearing so I tried it second time and this came up with
the desktop, with the clock wrong, of which it refuse to change, as says
not allowed. How do I save these changes for next time I boot?
