then press CTRL-ALT-F7 to return to the GUI where you should have<br>
konsole running.<br>

In both cases you can now enter commands. I then entered-<br>/usr/bin/plasma-desktopĀ first time it scrolled thru bringing up the desktop<br></div>but disappearing so I tried it second time and this came up with<br></div>the desktop, with the clock wrong, of which it refuse to change, as says<br></div>not allowed. How do I save these changes for next time I boot?<br><br></div>Ray<br>

Ooops - I missed the important part of your previous mail that you got<br>
rid of the systray error - sorry.<br>

If you right-click on the desktop, do you get a context menu? If yes,<br>
there should be an option "Add Panel". Select "Default Panel". If you<br>
don't get a context menu, run the command<br>
<br>
/usr/bin/plasma-desktop<br>
