Upgrade to Kubuntu 16.04 LTS had issues

KDM was replaced by lightdm during the upgrade 12.04 -> 14.04 IIRC, so 
your use of KDM was not a standard situation. OTOH KDM was still 
available for 14.04, so the upgrade script should have handled it 
gracefully IMHO.

But to me it looks a bit strange that sddm isn't enabled automatically. 
I haven't seen that with the two upgrades I made in December. Maybe that 
is a new bug?
