DVD ripper

Thank you for reading this.

I've been given a DVD containing holiday video to rip. Unfortunately 
I've run into problems now that I've upgraded to Kubuntu 15.05. Acid rip 
does not seem to be available any longer and K3B fails without giving a 
reason.

I've managed to copy the DVD with K3B but the owner preferred to have 
the DVD ripped. Are there any rippers that are compatible with 15.04?

By the way I did try dvd:rip but it failed due to incompatible library 
files.
