Can I get my desktop back in 15.04?

Okay, I just upgraded from 14.10 to 15.04, and my desktop is gone.  I
read that plasma 5 is now the default, but nowhere did I see that all
my KDE settings are gone!  Did I miss something?  This is almost as
bad as the switch from KDE3 to KDE4.

Is there a way to convert my old KDE setting to Plasma 5?  If not, is
there a way to not use Plasma 5?  I read that it is now the default,
but is there a way to still use the old system while the developers
figure out how to port the settings.

I hope that I'm just confused and missed something simple.  My
parents, wife, and kids all use 14.10 and I don't want to have to tell
them that all their settings will be lost when they upgrade.

Please tell me I'm wrong.
