Have you looked at PCLinuxOS? This defaults to KDE, altho other desktops are available.
It is a "rolling release" so you never have to reinstall it. Updates come out about once
a week--just open Synaptic, do a Reload, Mark all Updates, Apply. Most of the updates
seem to occur on weekends, so Sunday evening is a good time to update your system.
The PCLOS Forum is very active, and the folks there are friendly and helpful, and
include some (all?) of the PCLOS devs. It is an rpm-supported system, unlike Debian and
Mint. You can install anything in the repos from Synaptic, without using apt-get, altho
that can be used also. Most rpms for Fedora or openSuse or other systems will work if
the dependencies are met, altho the devs frown on importing apps from other distros.
(You install them from a terminal with the command "rpm -Uvh filename.rpm"--without
the quotes.)

You can look at the website at

http://www.pclinuxos.com/get-pclinuxos/kde/

and download an install disk via Torrent or directly from one of the listed
download mirrors.

I have been running pclos for about 5 years, and while I have looked at some other
distros--and I have Mint on a machine here also--I will stay with pclos.
If it make any difference to you, right now it is NOT using systemd.
