There have been two Cups updates in Kubuntu 14.10 since the release IIRC, I
see no such errors here when I print (I don't print often, but it worked
quite fine last week). Using an old LaserJet 6L connected over USB. Mind
you, this can depend on a lot of factors, starting from the way the printer
is connected to the printer itself.
