The kernels are numbered in sequence, i.e. 3.13.whatever is newer than
3.11.something which is newer than 3.2.anything. The kernel version you
get with an individual system is usually the latest version that was
available when the system was released. There is a new kernel version
released every few months which explains the different versions on your
systems and the kernel is developed independently from Linux
distributions.
