Kmail DOES send my mail, but does NOT save it to the local folder 'sent-mail'.

AIUI, outbox and sent-mail are special folders and it may be a problem 
with the way they are marked as such special folders - sorry, I can't 
tell you any details. Unless someone else on this list can help you 
further, I would suggest to ask about the problem on the kdepim-users 
list: <https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-users>.

Ignore that message - it looks like a debug message for the developers 
and I have seen it for other well working applications as well.

You can file a bug report at <https://bugs.kde.org/> but then you should 
better run the latest kmail version which is available from the kubuntu-
backports-ppa <https://launchpad.net/~kubuntu-ppa/+archive/backports>.
