Are we starting to confuse amd64 (64 bit) - the cpu architecture with 
AMD the cpu/gpu company and products? 

it is highly unlikely that 64 bit architecture and the cpus running it 
(from both Intel and AMD) are specific reasons for bugginess. Possible, 
yes, but unlikely.
