Mounting a SD card: successfully outside the camera, no luck when trying it via the camera and USB cable.

Can you explain what happens when you connect the camera? Does the
device notifier pop up to show that the camera was inserted? And what
type of camera is it? Maybe there is a problem with your type of camera.
