That is exactly what happened; I've not had a problem with the laptop
going into sleep mode until a couple of days ago. I noticed that Pysol
was acting strangely and I assumed that the uh-oh audio warning was the
result.

Nothing has been installed recently apart from security upgrades. I'm
running Kubuntu 12.04 with it's supplied KDE version 4.9.5.

Because my laptop has not had a problem with three different Linux
distributions over the past four or five years and so it seems likely
that the next Kubuntu version will correct whatever has recently fail.

I do not have clue what might have cause sleep mode to suddenly fail;
hence my question.
