Hello Steve and Everybody Else

Yesterday, I brought up this question in this thread:

Today, you, Steve, pointed me at your interesting answer at the Kubuntu
forums: http://bit.ly/Ivu0fH
I really would like to carry out the proposals you summarise there. When
retrieving e-mails from Google via IMAP, MYSQL eats 30 to 60% of my CPU
capacity. From your input, almost everything is clear to me. The package you
refer to, akonadi-backend-sqlite, I already found in the repository. However,
I need a short explanation about the 2nd step you propose: " Stop the Akonadi
server". Can you please briefly explain how?

Another question puzzling me is wether you (or any body else) has ever
"merged" a local .ical file with calendar and tasks into the google calendar,
carried by the akonadi googledata resource. The past 24 hours, I posted this
question to this forum in a bit more detail.

Thanks, respectfully yours,
Bas Roufs.
