Kontact birthdays

Several niggles since updating to Kubuntu 11.04.

Biggest is the loss of  birthdays and anniversaries from Kontact summary.
It displays headers for Upcoming Events, New Messages, Pending To-dos and 
Popup Notes, but not birthdays.

Can anybody help?
