Filtering messages that belong to mailing lists

While thuderbird doesn't have as nice a filter system as Kmail, imo, 
there is an extension for it that may be useful:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/mailing-list-manager/

In Kmail, you can right-click and create a filter, but it won't do the 
folder creation automatically.
This TB extension looks like it scans your mail for mailing lists by 
header and does all the work, but I have not tried it out very far as I 
don't use tbird too much. I know not all lists outt there will use the 
proper headers, but this extension will be a start, assuming it works well
