Well if you have more than 4gigs of memory and still want to use it all on a 32-bit 
system then install the pae kernel, maybe start with installing the server version 
to make it real easy :)  I do a lot of video encoding and ripping and 64-bit software has
more horsepower that I really want.  My Dell Latitude <something or other - 1200??> 
laptop dual boots with 64-bit Kubuntu and it has no problems with wireless (at least 
since NetworkManager actually started managing the network)
