CD/DVD reading problem

I've been running Linux since the Slackware days of floppy disk set
installs ...about the time a poor Republican could barely afford a CD
player for the computer without a bank loan. But, I've never seen that
one. I waved a chicken foot and said "...what the hell" and pushed the
red button like Stimpy did. My machine didn't blow up nor did a
time-space vortex open above me. Well, if one did, I'm not cognizant of
it. Life still sucks as usual. <chuckles> Ric
