Wicd doesn't seem to support any mobile internet devices, but I've been using networkmanager successfully with one for a month or so.
If you install networkmanager you need to make sure you completely uninstall wicd and reboot before trying networkmanager.
You may be able to get KPPP to work but the setup would be much more complex.
