Turn off preview on Desktop folders

The setting in both of those places are turned off. I have also turned off 
previews in the settings for the "Folder View" widget that is displaying the 
desktop folder, but still I get previews.

I've uploaded a cropped screengrab so you can see the preview I mean:

Any other thoughts on how to turn this off would be appreciated.
