The original suggestions/fix last year was to insert these lines:

network.protocol-handler.app.http
network.protocol-handler.app.https

as "boolean true"

In the latest TB 3.0.4 this appears to have been altered to:

network.protocol-handler.expose.http
network.protocol-handler.expose.https

At least this is what I have and it works for me.

Ooops, just in case this makes a difference (because I cannot get to my 
Kubuntu installation right now), I quote this from my Ubuntu 
installation (which is my normal system, the Kubuntu one is only to see 
how horrible it is compared to Ubuntu :-) ).
