K3B and burning CDs

Mark, thanks for the come-back but it didn't work. I've been using K3B
like forever and now it's dead in the water. I used Brasero and it
seemed to be in an endless loop while "normalizing tracks". I disabled
that feature and it proceeded to burn the CD just fine. 

Just wondering how the heck K3B could get so broken. When I googled on
the problem it seems to be cropping up all over, amongst the various
distros. I even tried running it as root, to no avail. Darn shame too.
