Thanks Steve, I may have to do that at some point.  The older 17" may not 
protect itself and I don't know the minimum hscan speeds for it are but would 
assume > 30 khz.  Max of course is fuzzy, and determined by the monitors 
ability to crank up the voltage to the hscan circuit, when its over-ranged 
the pix gets dimmer & narrower, but normally it won't be damaged.

Occasionally this is written on a rear label, but that puppy is going to need 
a forklift to get it out of there and look.  I sort of built the cubbyhole 
around it.  Typical workshop for an old fart. :-)

What I was hoping for was an editable monitor database that wasn't internal 
to a gui.
