No plasma desktop nor panel after upgrade to KDE SC 4.4 beta 2

Are you sure you've resolved the '3 not upgraded' problem? That was what I was referring to.
Are you sure you did sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop after the dist-upgrade?

Don't worry about the soprano/nepomuk thing, mine does that too but I have everything else working.
