In my experience, Akonadi will not always warn when your resources are read-
only. I lost my address book on an sftp server more than once.
If Akonadi can not write to the resources, all your work will be lost when
closing kontact.
- They can be read only on the filesystem
- They can be unavailable, but cached (kioslave?)
- They can be read-only in akonadi, and loaded by means of the compatibility
resource.
I don't know the internal workings of Akonadi, so I might be wrong here and
your problem is something else.
