Installing Hardy into a 'wasted' partition

No, because mount points are only relevant for the currently running linux.
When hardy is running: /dev/sda7 = / and /dev/sda3 = /mnt/feisty
When feisty is running: /dev/sda3 = / and /dev/sda7 = /mnt/hardy
The two /mnt mounts are just examples and you don't need them. You only
need them when you want to access hardy files when you are in feisty or
vice versa.

It doesn't matter. I leave it on the net, so it can get the latest
updates, but you can also do that after install.
