Has Kubuntu become less stable?

Using a clean install of 10.10 -
nVidia 7300 graphics card, driver 260.19.06

I have a menu issue somewhat akin to yours. Main menu items diplay ok
but sub-menus will frequently fail to fully display.

The edge of sub-menus - using the Oxygen theme - overlaps the
dropped-down main menu parts but, intermittently, only that part which
overlaps gets drawn. I have to move the mouse over the area that should
be visible before it draws fully. Before I discovered that point I too
was baffled by the refusal of sub-menus to appear. This was never an
issue in 9.10 (same hardware).

The KDE apps like KOffice, Konqueror etc. I can't comment on as I've
always used OpenOffice, Firefox and Thunderbird.

Overall stability has been very good, no issues with the cpu, it's
running VirtualBox and Wine ok. My primary reservations relate to the
audio setup with Pulse and Audacity, it all seems a bit wobbly to me,
but that could be down to my not having it configured properly.
