James, just did an installation of lubuntu lucid to a 2G usb thumb drive
(and set grub there), and remembered your warning about swap.
Yes, swap partition (on hd) was reformatted as you had correctly stated,
and there was no way for me to avoid this. However, and this is
interesting....the UUID of swap was not changed. Went to kubuntu to
recheck at fstab, blkid, and there is no problem. Tried very hard to
activate swap (most of the time, swap is always zero) and confirm that
there is really no issue with swap.
Thought you might be interested in knowing this, and thanks for the
head-up. (heads-up?)
