Q: how to configure 9.10 LCD weather plasmoid?

I just upgraded from jaunty to karmic.

The first thing I'm presented with is a request to configure the two LCD
weather plasmoids that are on my desktop. (I don't know why the
configuration didn't carry over from 9.04, but that's a minor niggle.)

The problem is that when I try to configure them, it seems that whatever I
enter in the "City" box produces zero results... so I can't configure them.

What am I doing wrong? Or this a new bug?

(I'm selecting the NOAA source, since I'm in the US.)
