Kubuntu a dist in crisis?

Having read all these post, I have to say that the problem is with
Kubuntu. Kubuntu is an end user distro and it should work. Saying
Linux is always beta is totally wrong. Kubuntu has jumped the gun many
times with adding software that was not ready to be used and they
continue to do this. KDE3 should still be the default with KDE4 an
option. Do have to say that anyone that complains about wallpaper is
clueless though.
AS for staying with 8.04? It is getting very long in the tooth. I see
this any time I try and use something new. For example Blender 2.5
will not run because the openAL sound drivers are so old. I have run
into this, lib is to old problem, a lot.
Kubuntu needs to be responsible and make a working system first and
then add bleeding edge stuff as options second. As I see it Kubuntu is
a pro distro with a reputation to keep up and they can't do that
making irresponsible decisions and could really hurt a users
productivity especially when the problems are known beforehand.
