Gimp would open at first, but when I would select file->open->click on file, Gimp 
would automatically disappear with no warning. Then when trying to open gimp 
it would just crash right after it opened.

Maybe it was just a coincidence, but I did notice it only crashed on really 
big pictures that I had scanned.
