If your moving over from Windows I would suggest Kubuntu or SuSe with
the KDE desktop. If your coming from MAC then Ubuntu and SuSe with Gnome
desktop might be your choice. KDE is more familiar to Windows user right
off the bat and Gnome to MAC users.
Other than the desktop there isn't much difference between Ubuntu and
Kubuntu. They are the same operating system behind the desktop. Just the
tweaks necessary for the desktop.
From my own personal perspective, I used SuSe for quite a while before
I started on Kubuntu. Both are very good OS's. [ This is just my
personal opinion ] I would suggest that if you only have room for one
version to use (K)Uubuntu. If you have the disk space or spare drives [
I have four in my desktop machine ] install SuSE and (K)Ubuntu side by side.
That's one of the many great benefits of Linux. You have a choice. Your
not dictated to by ...... well, you know who. It your computer. You can
do it your way.
