I think I loaded xubuntu but it matters not....

Right this minute I am loading   Kubuntu-netbook-9.10   on the eeePC and right 
off the bat it looks pretty good.   Am now loading XFCE on top of that.  Will 
let you know how it goes when finished.

On another note:

I have now loaded up  kubuntu of various shades of Karmic  about 6 times, and 
I have yet to be able to do a wireless connect right after the install.   (use 
KDE4 and the network icon)  There must be a secret there but it eludes me.

I always have to do a hard-wired connect and load up  WICD in order to do 
anything with wireless.
