Good Morning,
I am hoping someone on this list is using the ATOM D945GCLF2 and has experienced this problem (and found a "fix"). I have been Googling for several hours looking for a solution to the problem with no luck.
After doing an "apt-get update" from Kubuntu 8.04.3 LTS, kernel 2.6.24-23-rt running on an Intel D945GCLF2 board, I received the 2.6.24-25-rt kernel and found that the new kernel cannot discover the onboard eth(0) or KMix . If I boot either with the 2.6.24-23-rt kernel, the ethernet device is discovered (checked with "lsdev). The D945 has the latest available bios LF0140P.ISO (8/31/2009) for Linux/Windoze systems.
If I re-boot into Kubuntu 8.04.3 LTS, kernel 2.6.24-23-rt, KMix and eth(0) are fine.
I have three other Asus Desktop Systems that were upgraded to running Kubuntu 8.04.3 LTS, kernel 2.6.24-25-rt and none of them has this problem.
TIA,
Phil
