Crashing programs after upgrade to Karmic

I rather think that it is Apport running wild. I disabled it since it
produces unnecessary noise. The crashes are then detected by Dr.
Konqi, which is much more tolerant with that. It seems Apport pops up
whenever a system process is killed, regardles if it is a crash or
not.

But without telling us what applications crash we can hardly help further.

Thank you for the reply, Myriam. I think that is probably it. Among the programs "crashing" are Miro, which then continues to work just fine, and kwin, which I think must be continuing or my desktop would not be working properly, and some Beagle thing, which I didn't recognize. Do you think I should make a list of all the programs first, or just disable Apport?
