It would be "sufficient" - but impossible.  What do you think a meta-package 
is?  kdegames has no content of its own (probably - I haven't bothered to 
check), but has a whole list of "depends", including kblocks.  If you remove 
one of its dependencies, it _has_ to remove the meta-package.  That doesn't 
mean anything else needs to be removed (though if you use aptitude lots 
will, because it's all marked as "automatic" installs.

If you don't want dependencies removing meta-packages, don't install meta-
packages!
