KDE4.3 beta issues

I just upgraded my Jaunty installation to KDE 4.3 Beta1 (aka KDE 4.2.85) 
this evening.  I have no need to go back to KDE 4.2.x, since the whole 
point is (for me) to test out the latest KDE.

Note that KTorrent on both KDE 4.2 and KDE 4.3 Beta1 does cause X11 to 
use up a lot of CPU.  Quite often (about 60% of the time), CPU is 
running at over 90%.  X11 is the culprit.  The graphics card is an Intel 
Q965 integrated video chip.  KTorrent on KDE 3.5, by contrast, asks very 
little of X11 (1% CPU usage).  This is with both integrated Intel video 
and nVidia Quadra 400 video.

Additionally, KDE 4 (including 4.3 Beta1) does feel more sluggish 
generally than does either KDE 3.5 or the Ubuntu Hardy (GNOME) with the 
same Intel Q965 graphics.  The CPU monitors show a much greater tendency 
for CPU spikes, regardless of the app that's being run.  That includes 
even switching between desktops.  Any idea what could be causing that?

Here's a "top" output from Jaunty running 4.3 Beta1, when KTorrent is 
active.  You'll see that the Xorg process is at 88%.  Upload speed 
ranges in between 100KiB and 900 KiB.  When I close KTorrent, CPU usage 
takes a nosedive.  CPU is Intel Core 2 Duo, 1.8GHz.  DRAM is 4GB.  
Kernel is i686 (32-bit), rev. 2.6.28-12-generic SMP.
